[The Elm's door, before and after]
After months of construction, things are finally coming together at Paul Liebrandt's The Elm in Williamsburg. At the end of last week, a worker removed the sign for Pillar & Plough, the blink-and-you-missed-it restaurant that previously occupied this space. Maybe Liebrandt will use the old letters as pieces of tableware. Workers also recently installed a new sculpture on the wall outside the subterranean dining room that looks like it's made of wood handle axes. Will The Elm have a lumberjack/woodsman theme? Only time will tell. It's slated to open later this month.
