The Darby to Close This Month, Reopen as New Club

New, 5 comments

The Butter Group has announced that it will close the Darby, its supper club and lounge that offers guests live entertainment during their dinners, by the end of the month. Owners Scott Sartiano and Richie Akiva tell the Post that while business is doing great, the owners have become nervous that a demolition clause in their lease could force them to close before they have fully recouped their investment. So the owners have decided to close the restaurant down and turn the space into a full fledged bottle service nightclub to help bring in as much money as possible before they lose the space. The Darby Downstairs will remain open during the upstairs transformation of the old restaurant, and Sartiano and Akiva promise that their new club won't become another EDM mega club like so many of their competitors.

The Darby promised to provide a unique night out, and gave customers the thrills of seeing unexpected performances joining its house band, while also causing a stir over unexpected charges for its entertainment and of course, ice. It's only been open on the weekend for the last few months, but the owners hope to possibly find a new location somewhere in the Times Square area.
