Ladies and gentlemen and ice cream lovers of all stripes, rejoice: OddFellows Ice Cream Co. opens today on Kent Avenue in Williamsburg. This is the new ice cream parlor from wd~50 alum Sam Mason, a partnership with husband-and-wife duo Mohan and Holiday Kumar. (Which explains the April Fools joke with the Kumar's Artisanal Chutney Shop signage.)

At OddFellows, Mason and company are scooping out a rotating list of eight to 10 flavors, ranging from the normal ones like chocolate and strawberry to crazier flavors like chorizo caramel and cornbread. The shop also has a selection of sorbets, and while it's just doing scoops for now, sundaes, house-made sodas, cotton candy, and other solid ice cream parlor fare is coming soon. The ice cream is pasteurized in-house, and all of the ingredients come from local farms and dairies, including Battenkill Valley Creamery.

On top of that, five cents from every scoop sold will go to the Food Bank for New York City. The shop?modeled on the old-school NYC soda fountain? is open seven days a week starting at noon.
