LES Gamers Getting Their Very Own Restaurant and Bar

New, 10 comments

Finally, the video game fanatics of the Lower East Side and beyond will have a Latin/Caribbean restaurant with gaming lounge to call their own. Bowery Boogie notices a liquor license application for a spot called 4Play Gaming, which promises to bring exactly that to 120 Orchard Street. That's the current location of Darren Rubell's seven-year-old Gallery Bar.

According to 4Play's application (sorry, PDF), owner Willer Valerus plans to install a 40- to 45-seat restaurant with Latin and Caribbean food (the sample menu has items like a "Rasta Pasta Salad" and a Maryland crab cake with a side of plantains), along with a lounge for playing online games like World of Warcraft and Call of Duty.

Boogie also adds that Valerus, a first-time restaurateur, is in the process of trying to buy the Gallery Bar assets, so it definitely looks like Rubell's bar is on its way out.
