Is Anthony Mangieri Planning a Return to New York?

Four years ago, Anthony Mangieri shuttered his beloved pizzeria Una Pizza Napoletana in the East Village, and moved the operation to San Francisco. Now, travel writer David Farley floats the juicy rumor that the pizza king might be plotting a return to NYC. Farley tweets: "A reliable source told me that Anthony of Una Pizza Napoletana, who moved to SF a couple years ago, has an NYC project in the works." New York certainly has a lot of great Neapolitan pizzerias — including Motorino, which sits in the old Una Pizza space — but the city's pie aficionados would certainly welcome Mangieri back with open arms. Mangieri has not confirmed that he's planning a move back to NYC, but if you hear anything, let us know.
