The BayHouse and Sugar Bowl Reopen In The Rockaways

[Claire Nugent; Facebook]
The BayHouse and The Sugar Bowl both reopened this week, eight months after being all but decimated by Hurricane Sandy. The two Rockaway establishments sat right on the beach at Breezy Point, and suffered some of the worst damages of any restaurants affected by the storm. The BayHouse reopened with a party this past Saturday, while the Sugar Bowl reopened just today. Both are in temporary structures for now, but Gerard McCormick, the manager of the beloved, 38-year-old Sugar Bowl, tells Eater that these are "perfect" for the summer, and that they are "fired up to be back where we belong."
