Picnic Baskets from Egg and Parish Hall; Danish Brunch

PICNICWIRE — The folks at Egg and Parish Hall are selling picnic baskets for the Fourth of July, which include meat and sides for four. Choose from either a fried chicken or a pulled pork dinner, or opt for just one of the sides, like collards or cornbread. The baskets are $50 each, and have to be ordered by July 3 either at one of the two restaurants or online. [EaterWire]

WILLIAMSBURG — Fette Sau is going to start opening for the afternoon on Fridays starting July 5. Just like on the weekends, the restaurant will open at noon rather than at 5 p.m. It will also open at noon on the Fourth of July, "for all your BBQ needs." [EaterWire]

TRIBECA — Aamans-Copenhagen is serving what they call a "true Danish brunch" starting this Sunday, June 30. The regular and vegetarian "brunch plates" include a variety of small, simple items like cheese, herring, salad, and granola. A menu of small dishes like beef tartare and porridge with berries is also available, as well as various brunch cockatils. Brunch will be every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. [EaterWire]

FOOD MEDIA — Citysearch has laid off 95 percent of its staff, its site traffic having declined 80 percent over the past year. Eater National has an email sent from David Israel, the website's "Content & Community Guru" to the site's Scouts, who provided guides to local restaurants, bars, and more, which says that no one would be able to add tips after noon PT today.
