Tonight marks the opening of the AltaMarea Group's The Butterfly, a swanky, midcentury modern take on the Wisconsin-style supper club. The star of the show here is the cocktail program, which Eben Freeman has designed to emphasize classic cocktails, like The Grasshopper and Brandy Old Fashioned. At some point in the future, he may start serving some of his more progressive greatest hits.

Chef Michael White has assembled a menu that includes snacks and shareable plates to go along with the booze, in addition to dishes like a patty melt, fried chicken, filet mignon with potato puree, and a vegetable pot pie. Marea executive chef Jared Gadbaw and former Marea sous chef Charles Lutka are in the kitchen.
