The new Midtown location of Ippudo will have a lounge area, and a cocktail bar made out of African-teakwood. The menu will also feature a few dishes that you won't find downtown. Ippudo's owner Shigemi Kawahara tells the Times: "The customer profile in Midtown is different than in the East Village, and their expectations are different...I think they want a more luxurious restaurant."
