Tonight the Empire City Casino at Yonkers Racetrack gets a new flagship restaurant called pinch. This shiny red monster is run by Alain Ducasse's consulting company, Ducasse Studio, and they clearly had some fun with the design and overall concept. Here are 10 crucial facts about Ducasse Studio's Yonkers racino restaurant, pinch:
1) It's pinch, not Pinch.
2) Total capacity is 245 seats.
3) Both the beverage and the dessert menus come on an iPad. They're interactive.
4) The restaurant has a growler filling station, where you can choose from one of 100 New York State beers.
5) It also has six "draft booths," which are tables outfitted with self-service beer taps.
6) The French onion soup comes with a "lager beer shooter."
7) The kitchen is run by Benoit veteran Fabienne Eymard, who tells Flo-Fab: "I've done gastronomic restaurants, bistros, and now I'm eager to try something else."
8) Free valet parking with minimum $50 purchase.
9) The interior design centers on a glass-enclosed keg room and a bright red tap wall inspired by this race car from 1955.
10) "Jeans to black tie are welcome."
