Barbarini Co-Owners Announce Location for New Project

Linda and Claudio Marini, one-half of the ownership team behind the dearly-departed Barbarini Alimentari, have finally found a new home after their popular South Street Seaport spot was destroyed in Hurricane Sandy. The couple tells Tribeca Citizen that they've just signed a lease on a new space at 21 Ann St. in the Financial District, at the corner of Theatre Alley.

Barbarini was a joint project by the Marinis and another couple, Stefano Barbagallo and Adriana Luque. Sandy spelled the end for both that restaurant and the couples' partnership, with the Marinis looking to open on higher ground and Barbagallo and Luque ultimately deciding open a new spot called Barbalu in the original Barbarini space.

The new project from this half of the former Barbarini team will be called Da Claudio Ristorante e Salumeria, and it's already got a website and social media presence. The Marinis are shooting for an early 2014 opening.
