Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:
1) BrewHaHa
When: Today, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: The Brooklyn Kitchen
What: How about some free beer? Well the Brooklyn Kitchen is hosting a free BrewHaHa this afternoon. There will be samples of their house-brewed beer, including a spiced saison and amarillo American wheat, and hopped virgin lime-aid. Beer snacks, like cheddar biscuits, peanuts, pretzels, and chips, will also be available. Home-brewers are invited to share their beers, and guests will get 10% off everything in the homebrew department all afternoon.
2) Father's Day Brunch
When: Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Oceana
What: In celebration of dear ol' dad, Oceana is offering a few brunch specials tomorrow. There will be house-made granola, banana pancakes, and cajun eggs Benedict. There will also be a special Bloody Mary on the menu. A full lunch menu will also be available, but take a look at the brunch offerings here. If you're the kind of dad that likes to sleep in on Sunday mornings, there will also be a lobster special available for dinner from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
3) SAVOR: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience
When: Today, 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Where: Altman Building and Metropolitan Pavilion
What: Savor, a beer and food festival, continues this evening. There will be discussions and tastings centered around American craft beers, and food pairings of combos like liver and chocolate and seaweed with honey and sesame. Tickets are still available online for $170. There will also be other supporting events held throughout the city today, including a brunch at the Blind Tiger. 4) Beers Gone Wild
When: Today & Tomorrow, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: The Alewife
What: This weekend, The Alewife out in LIC is hosting a sour beer and oyster festival. There will be kegs and bottles of over twenty different sour beers, and endless amounts of oysters and cheese to nosh on. Tickets are $25, but you can also pay-as-you-go for the beer.
5) Father's Day Dinner
When: Sunday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: The Harrison
What: The Harrison has a lot going on this weekend with the launch of their brunch menu and "Sunday Meat on a Stick." And tomorrow night, in honor of Father's Day, they're giving all proud papas their entree for free. Hooray for free skillet roasted chicken and pork chops! Hooray for dad!
Also of Note: Smorgasburg is open for business this weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with vendors like Red Hook Lobster Pound, Takumi Taco, and Blue Marble Ice Cream.
