Pillar & Plough was open for less than two months, and yet its legacy lives on in the form of signage on the door to Paul Liebrandt's forthcoming restaurant, The Elm. This is perhaps the most anticipated Williamsburg restaurant of all time. The Elm crew has been keeping the space sealed tight, with paper along the massive windows that face McCarren Park. Yesterday afternoon, the crew was doing some work on the street level entrance, so maybe that Pillar & Plough sign will come down soon. We know the food is Krader-ready, so now they just have to polish up that dining room, take the paper off the windows, and get this party started.
Word on the street is that the restaurant should open early next month.
