The West Coast's takeover of New York City's burger scene?which will bring as many as 10 locations of Fatburger and a handful of Umami Burgers to the area?begins tomorrow with Fatburger's new location in Murray Hill. This is the LA-based burger joint's first location in NYC in some time?there was one near Gramercy Park through the 90s, but that was under a different ownership group. It's got burgers grilled to order with a whole host of toppings stacked in a very specific order (for example, tomato always on the bottom), with prices running slightly above your standard fast food joint with a medium combo right at 10 bucks. The big difference for this location and most of the chain's others is the bar, with only one other Fatburger, on the Vegas Strip, selling booze.
Fatburger plans to open nine more locations in the New York area in the next couple of years, but no locations or timelines have been determined yet. This one will be open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m.
