Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:

When: Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Txikito
What: Txikito is hosting its annual Txikifest in the restaurant's back alley tomorrow afternoon. The festival is all about txakoli, a type of sparkling white wine from Spain, but there will also be tastes from Sullivan Street Bakery, Kuma Inn, La Newyorkina, Hurricane Club, and La Palapa, among others. Tickets are $50, with all proceeds going to benefit Sanctuary for Families.

When: Today, 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Where: Columbus Avenue
What: This evening, over forty Upper West Side restaurants will offer tastes of their signature dishes as part of the New Taste of the Upper West Side. In addition to food from places like Jean-Georges, Dovetail, Salumeria Rosi, and Shake Shack, there will be cocktails and music. General admission tickets are $135 per person, or $250 for VIP, which includes some chef meet-and-greets.

When: Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Lower East Side
What: DayLife, a food and fashion festival, will take over three blocks of the LES tomorrow afternoon. Participating food vendors include Mission Chinese, Katz's Deli, Hot Bread Kitchen, and Grey Lady, among other neighborhood restaurants. There will also be yoga, games, and music. This event is free.

203-001.jpg4) Brooklyn Brewery Rib Cookout
When: Today, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Sycamore
What: Ditmas Park's Sycamore Bar & Flowershop will host a barbecue this afternoon. Brooklyn Brewery will be serving $5 beers and Swagger and Co. will be serving up pork spare ribs with two types of sauces and various side dishes. Tickets to the cookout are $18, and can be purchased online here.

When: Today, 10 p.m to 4 a.m.
Where: (Le) Poisson Rouge
What: (Le) Poisson Rouge is throwing its annual Battle of Chicken and Beer tonight. There will be endless amounts of hot wings and beer, as well as a breakdancing contest and lots and lots of DJs. Tickets are $40.

2012_05_smorgasburgAlso of Note: Smorgasburg is open for business this weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with vendors like Porchetta, Red Hook Lobster Pound, and Liddabit Sweets. The Hester Street Fair is on for this weekend as well. Also worth checking out is the Bon Appetit's NYC Grub Crawl, which kicks off today. Tickets for both the afternoon and evening crawls are $150 and can be purchased online. Looking to try a new restaurant this weekend? Head over to Pier 57 for some barbecue courtesy of Fletcher's Brooklyn Barbecue, check out SmorgasBar down at the South Street Seaport, or grab a coffee at the first stand-alone location of Stumptown Coffee.
