Michael Levitis, owner of the lavish Russian nightclub Rasputin in Brighton Beach, was indicted yesterday for defrauding some 1,200 people out of over $2.2 million dollars with a scheme involving a made-up debt relief company. Quite a bit of that money went towards funding the 7,000 square foot club, which paired Vegas cabaret with vodka, pickles and borscht, and the Attorney's Office is now working to seize the venue.
