Next month's Community Board 3 agenda includes an application for a new liquor license at 117 Avenue A, the home of Odessa Cafe and Bar. No information has been released about the applicant, but it sounds like someone is eyeing this space for a new bar or restaurant. EV Grieve notes that the building has a relatively new landlord, and that neighbors have been whispering about the possible shuttering of the restaurant since last summer. Although Odessa Cafe is never as busy as the diner next door, the retro bar has its fair share of die-hard fans.
Ivan Ramen, Via Tribunali, and a new Ludlow Street location of sandwich chain 100 Montaditos are all applying for liquor license applications in "saturated areas." Chinatown dim sum favorite Golden Unicorn is also applying for a new liquor license, and so is Two Bit's Retro Arcade. The CB3 SLA Licensing Committee meeting will be held on June 17.
