As their follow-up to Acme, restaurateurs Jean-Marc Houmard, Jon Neidich, and Huy Chi Le are planning a restaurant in the massive Essex Street space that formerly housed the Laugh Lounge. Bowery Boogie learns that the new restaurant is doing business under the name South Central. A menu that was submitted to the CB3 includes tacos, empanadas, and tostadas, as well as tapas-style small plates. The paperwork promises that a "reputable chef" will be in the kitchen. Team Acme will reveal more details about the new restaurant at the CB3's SLA Licensing Committee meeting on May 20.
