Corey Cova, the chef behind the menus at Earl's Beer and Cheese and ABV in East Harlem, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help get his newest project off the ground. It's a doughnut and coffee shop called Dough Loco that will be at 1261 Park Avenue, featuring slightly left-of-center doughnuts like a double glazed chocolate made with Fruition Chocolate, in addition to a miso-maple doughnut. ABV co-owner Mike Cesari is also involved, while Ryan Gaskins is making the jump from ABV to be a GM at Dough Loco as well.
They hope to open in mid-June, with the Kickstarter launched to help with some last-minute plumbing and electrical work and help get some goodies for the kitchen (like a proofer, mixer, and refrigeration).
