DB Bistro Alums to Open in Former Governor Space

A new restaurant called Atrium is coming to the DUMBO space that formerly housed Governor, reports FloFab in her Off The Menu column. The project is a collaboration between three alums of Daniel Boulud's Theater District restaurant DB Bistro Moderne: chef Laurent Kalkotour, beverage director Alexander LaPratt, and manager Leslie Affre. Atrium is set to open at some point this summer.

Last October, Hurricane Sandy's surge ravaged Governor, which ended up becoming one of the most visible restaurant victims of the storm. Despite various benefit dinners and donation efforts to aid the rebuilding of the space, the restaurateurs behind the well-reviewed project decided four months ago that they would not move forward with their push to reopen the business.
