Steak and Pasta for Everyone at Michael White's Costata

Starting tomorrow, these chairs and banquettes will be full of people, and the tables will be topped with steaks, pasta bowls, raw bar towers, and various potato side dishes. Altamarea Group's fifth New York City restaurant, Costata, is located in the space that formerly housed Fiamma, where chef Michael White first garnered acclaim from the New York critics many years ago. Bianco's right-hand-man P.J. Calapa is the executive chef here, Robert Truitt is in charge of the pastries, and Eben Freeman is making the cocktails.

The menu includes crudo plates, homemade pastas, salads, seafood dishes, and several dry-aged steaks and steakhouse sides. The first and second floors of the space are dining rooms, and the third floor is a private event space. Costata officially opens for business tomorrow night.
