Amanda Freitag to Open Project in Empire Diner Space

One of New York's top free agent chefs is a free agent no more. Flo Fab reports that Ms. Amanda Freitag is opening a "locavore diner" in the Chelsea space that formerly housed Empire Diner and, briefly, The Highliner. If everything goes according to plan, it should open by the end of the summer. Although Freitag is a fixture of the TV cooking show circuit, she has not worked in a restaurant kitchen since she left The Harrison in 2010.
