Patio Dining at L'Apicio; Dollar Oysters at Ditch Plains

EAST VILLAGE — L'Apicio is opening its outdoor patio for the first time tonight, and adding some new spring dishes to the menu to celebrate. Dishes include gnocchi with morel mushrooms, polenta with rabbit cacciatore, and vanilla semifreddo with rhubarb compote. [EaterWire]

SOHO — The culinary salon City Grit just announced that Max Sussman will cook a meal for the dinner series "The Next Big Thing" on Saturday, May 18. The series showcases young chefs who have left their promising kitchen jobs to do their own thing, which means the dinner will be a chance to see what the former Roberta's chef de cuisine is working on now. PARK SLOPE — This Monday, April 15 the Brooklyn branch of Terroir wine bar is starting a set of new wine classes. Each one will focus on a different wine region, starting with the Loire Valley and covering everything from Rioja in Spain to the McLaren Vale in Australia.
