Paul Denamiel, the chef/owner of excellent Restaurant Row French bistro Le Rivage, is expanding this spring with a new French project in the Prince Street space that formerly housed Shorty's .32 and Principessa. The chef tells Zagat: "Le Rivage is a Theater District restaurant; this will be a neighborhood place...I will stay true to the classics but I'll throw some heat into it and amp it up." Little Prince will have 38 seats, and it will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Denamiel family has operated French restaurants in New York for over 40 years. For more on the history of Le Rivage and the Denamiels, check out Brooks of Sheffield's Who Goes There? piece about the restaurant from 2010. Little Prince is slated to open at the end of the month.
