Di Fara Spinoff MD Kitchen Now Open in Midwood

Last week, the DeMarco clan quietly opened the Di Fara spinoff, MD Kitchen, in a space down the block from the legendary pizzeria. On Facebook, Maggie DeMarco explains the name: "Mama DeMarco's for our mom, Mikey DeMarco for our nephew, Maggie DeMarco for me? What it does not mean is medical doctor."

In the original announcement about the restaurant, the DeMarco family explained that they wanted to offer, "all our old menu items that so many have been missing." The first Yelper to review the place (five stars), writes, "The portions are generous and well-priced for what you get (heroes are $6.50 - $8.00, hot plates $8 to $13)." He recommends the "shrimp parmigiana with pasta" and the eggplant parm hero. When Eater called earlier today, an employee at the restaurant said that they were serving "sandwiches, fries, wings, hot dogs, pasta with meat sauce, pasta with garlic and oil, and ravioli."
