One more West Village old-timer has closed its doors. Jeremiah Moss reports that Marinella Restaurant on the corner of Carmine and Bedford streets shuttered last week after 27 years in business. A sign on the window notes:
We regret to inform you that Marinella restaurant will be closing its doors this month due to the high cost increase connected to the renewal of our lease. We will be open to serve you until Wed. April 17. It has been our pleasure to serve you for over 27 years. We hope to see you at our other restaurant where Michael from Marinella and Albert will be happy to welcome you.The owners of Marinella also operate Porto Bello restaurant on Thompson Street. No word yet on what will happen to the corner space, but it probably won't stay vacant for very long.
