To kick off Monday morning, here's a tour of the bakery space at Andrew Carmellini's French blockbuster, Lafayette. The display case is stuffed with elaborate pastries from former Aureole pastry chef Jen Yee, plus breads from Per Se veteran James Belisle. The all-day cafe serves a special Lafayette blend of coffee from Stumptown, plus little butter cookies wrapped with blue and white string, croissants that come in croissant bags, several types of colorful macarons, and, yes, chocolate salamis.
