Cocktails at The JakeWalk, Brunch at Sweet Chick, More

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:

When: Today, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: The Jakewalk
What: This afternoon, The JakeWalk is hosting an introductory cocktail class called Cocktail Lab 101. Bar manager Timothy Miner and head bartender Bryan Teoh will teach participants how to shake, stir, and strain drinks like a pro. Tickets are $65 and available online here.

When: Today & Tomorrow, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Sweet Chick
What: Williamsburg's chicken and waffles palace Sweet Chick launches brunch this weekend with dishes like shrimp and cheddar grits, pancakes with blueberry compote, and of course, chicken and waffles. The Southern-inspired menu will also feature boozy brunch drinks like a bacon bloody mary and a hibiscus margarita.

When: Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: City Winery
What: Tomorrow, City Winery is hosting an event in honor of World Malbec Day. There will be a big selection of Malbec wines and Argentinian food samplings like spinach and cheese empanadas, chicken quesadillas, and skirt steak with chimichurri. Tickets are $25.

When: Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Masjid Al-Hikmah
What: The Indonesian Food Bazaar returns to the Al-Hikmah Mosque in Astoria. Tomorrow, the parking lot will be transformed into a food bazaar with locals serving up classic Indonesian dishes like gado gado, noodles in beef broth, and meat skewers. Admission is free.

When: Today, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Bitter & Esters
What: Bitter & Esters is hosting a hops lecture and tasting this afternoon. Participants will learn the different essential properties of different hops, how they're used for flavoring, bittering, and preserving beer. Tickets are $70, or add $16 more to get a copy of For The Love of Hops.
