lafayetterotiss.jpgAn opening night report from the New York Times describes an "exuberant and seemingly famished crowd" at Lafayette last night, where visitors were greeted by the sight of a "formidable, flaming rotisserie" manned by chefs in toques. Andrew Carmellini says that this was the vision from the start for his return to French cuisine. He calls Lafayette a "grand cafe." [NYT]
