LOWER EAST SIDE — The General is launching brunch this weekend, which means that in addition to those cereal-topped donuts, you can now sit down to breakfast dishes like Peking duck hash and eggs, fried chicken & waffles with truffle honey, and Asian-inspired bloody Marys. Brunch will be served starting at 11:30 a.m. in the restaurant's front café space, which will be opening up its glass doors to the warm weather now that spring is here. [EaterWire]

WILLIAMSBURG — Mable's Smokehouse is launching a "Southern Supper Series" on Monday, April 29 and on that night, the restaurant will be celebrating the long-awaited arrival of Shiner beer to NYC. Each of the dinner's five courses, which will include dishes like corn cakes with BBQ pulled pork and smoked beef ribs, will be paired with either Shiner beer or Buffalo Trace bourbon. Tickets are $75 per person, and guests must RSVP by April 23 either by email or by calling 718-218-6655. [EaterWire]
