Lisa Giffen Replaces Jared Stafford-Hill at Maison Premiere

Chef Jared Stafford-Hill has left Williamsburg bar-turned-serious-restaurant Maison Premiere after about nine months in the kitchen. Grub Street learns that the restaurant has named Lisa Giffen, formerly of Daniel and Blue Hill, as his replacement. Ms. Giffen has worked at the restaurant since it expanded into full food service last year. Her new menu includes a large plates section with things like turbot with clams, rabbit with spaetzle, and pigeon with turnips and foie gras. The $95 tasting menu is still available, too.

No word yet on where Jared Stafford-Hill is headed next. Maison Premiere's transition from cocktail bar to full-service restaurant was somewhat surprising, considering the fact that it was always slam-packed even without the prepared food. Last fall, Ryan Sutton awarded two and a half stars to the restaurant with Stafford-Hill in the kitchen. Check out the new menu here (PDF).
