Steven Penchenski is a trained welder who is making his first foray into the restaurant business with a new venture opening on Clinton Street early this summer. He's going all-out with an 11-seat sushi omakase called New York Sushi Ko. According to DNAinfo, the chef will be Sushi Uo alum John Daley and despite the culinary aspirations the spot will be super-casual. ("If you have tattoos, keep the tattoos out," Penchenski says.) There will be four different dinner options, starting with a three-course dinner for around $60 and going up to an unlimited tasting for about $170. There will also be a two-hour lunch option.
Penchenski hopes to open New York Sushi Ko at 91 Clinton St., former location of the Eastern European bakery Djerdan Burek, by June 1.
