Last July, Philly chef/reality TV star Jennifer Carroll appeared before the CB2 to get approval for a liquor license at 33 Greenwich Avenue. Her project was pitched as a seafood-focused white tablecloth restaurant that would stay open late to accommodate the service industry crowd. Now, word on the street is that Carroll has dropped out of the restaurant.
A source close to the restaurant tells Eater Philly that Carroll is headed back to Philadelphia to pursue other projects. At the July meeting, Carroll and her crew had a tough time convincing the CB2 that they could keep late hours without disturbing the neighbors. Eater has reached out to Carroll about the Greenwich Street project, but she has yet to comment on her involvement with the restaurant.
