Centro Vinoteca Closes After Seven Years in Business

Centro Vinoteca, a restaurant that was once home to Anne Burrell and a young-up-and-comer by the name of Leah Cohen, has shuttered. As Zagat notes, the restaurant's OpenTable account is offline, and a call to the listed phone number redirects to former sister establishment Gusto. An employee at that restaurant confirms to Eater that Centro Vinoteca has shuttered, although it's unclear when it closed or if the owners plan to reopen it as something else in the future.

The restaurant filed for Chapter 11 back in 2009, and in 2010, it produced one of the scariest Halloween promotional fliers of all time. That prime West Village corner space probably won't sit empty for very long.
