Back in December, news broke that Marc Forgione was teaming up with EMM Group to work on a new project in the Abe & Arthur's space. Now Eater learns that the two parties are no longer planning to work together. A rep for Forgione notes that the chef and EMM "have both decided to focus on their individual upcoming projects instead of moving forward with the planned partnership." A member of team EMM tells Eater that "Abe and Arthur's will remain open" with the same menu and theme. So, those porterhouse steaks and injectable donuts aren't going anywhere.
Forgione is planning to open Kio and American Cut in Tribeca later this year, and EMM has its hands full with The General and Finale on The Bowery. The EMM/Forgione collaboration was originally pitched as "an homage to New York culinary classics."
