Post-Sandy Rockaways

2013_3_PlateLunchQL.jpgShortly after Hurricane Sandy hit the New York area, the Beastie Boys' Mike D, surfer chef Sam Talbot, and a couple other friends started up a food truck called Plate Lunch to give out food in the Rockaways. According to a story in the WSJ Magazine's April issue, the team's raised around $200,000 to pay for food and two full-time employees, and will be out there giving out food until the summer.
