Reopening Report

Artie's Delicatessen, a 14 year-old Jewish deli on the Upper West Side, was shuttered by the Department of Consumer Affairs for the past two days due to an unpaid franchise fee. Owner Tuzia Feldman says that the city originally tried to close his store for a few weeks, but his lawyer was able to get the penalty reduced to just two days. Artie's reopened this morning with hot dogs and pastrami for all. [West Side Rag]
