Joe Pozzuoli Fires Up the Ovens at Joe's Pizza 14th Street

The 14th Street location of Joe's Pizza is slated to open next Monday. Eater stopped by earlier this afternoon when proprietor Joe Pozzuoli and his grandson Sal were firing up the ovens for the first time. These pies tasted exactly like the ones served at the Carmine Street location. The menu will be the same as the one at the original shop, but this location of Joe's will offer delivery somewhere down the road (the original occasionally offers delivery, but it's not a formal operation). This is the first time in 37 years that Pozzuoli has expanded. It's nice to see a quality pizzeria opening in a neighborhood that's overcrowded with lame dollar slice joints.
