Flatiron Hot Spot 230 Fifth Sued for Racial Discrimination

New, 3 comments

Four people have sued 230 Fifth in the Flatiron District for racial discrimination. DNAinfo reports that the suit?filed by 29-year-old Jermaine Sanders and three female friends?alleges that the club's bouncers wouldn't let them in even though they had reserved a VIP section by phone earlier in the day and even though Sanders's girlfriend and three white friends were already inside and had purchased a $320 bottle of Grey Goose. The bouncer allegedly only let Sanders in on the condition that he bought a second bottle.

The suit further alleges that Sanders's three friends were turned away while others were allowed in, even though between those two bottles the group had enough booze for 20 people. The bouncer allegedly called the women "black bitches" and said he had let "enough of you" into the club.

230 Fifth was also sued in 2011 for racial discrimination and was accused last spring of having a racist door policy.
