Once upon a time, there was a Fatty 'Cue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The critics loved it, and so did the hipsters. Zak Pelaccio made pig parts rain down from the ceiling on a nightly basis, fish sauce was handed out by the bucket, and instead of napkins, guests wiped their faces with slices of Texas toast. It was pretty cool.
Then the Manhattan location opened to wide acclaim, and the Brooklyn original closed for "renovations" in January 2012. Reps from the Fatty Crew promised that it would return in the summer, then the fall. It's still closed now, and it looks like very little work is being done on the space, if any.
But fear not Fatty Fans, the Fatty Crew is keeping the flame alive:
So maybe Fatty 'Cue might perhaps open in time for St. Patrick's Day. Or Memorial Day. Or Columbus Day, 2014.
