A pair of big changes for Jason Wang's ever-evolving Western Chinese chain Xi'an Famous Foods: The Local notices that the East Broadway location quietly shuttered, leaving the larger location on Bayard Street as the chain's sole Chinatown outpost. The exact date isn't clear, but it was long enough ago to become Yelp official.
The bigger news, though, is that Xi'an's Brooklyn storefront will open on Saturday. This is the location at the company's East Williamsburg commissary that Wang said last year was on its way. There's a coupon over on Facebook for a freebie in celebration of the opening.
And just for the record: all of the stores are closing at 8:30 tonight for the chain's Chinese New Year staff dinner.
