It's been quietly in planning for a long time, but the Soho House is finally ready to make good on its New York City expansion plans with a brand new outpost in the middle of the Lower East Side. The members-only hotel company has long been a presence in the Meatpacking District, and the recent purchase of the chain by billionaire Ron Burkle has fueled its global expansion at an even faster pace. New Soho House locations have opened in Miami, Los Angeles, and Germany to go along with the multiple branches in the U.K. Now they are finally ready to expand in New York.
There have been rumors that the company has held an option on the factory for years, and now the company is on the agenda for the next Community Board 3 meeting seeking a liquor license for the old Kleen-Stik Enterprises , which was sold for $8.7 million in December.
A rep for Soho House tells Eater "At the moment Soho House doesn't have anything agreed for the site on Ludlow Street. They are constantly on the look out for sites and opportunities for the group in many locations, including parts of New York.
