Hit Ramen Mini-Chain Jinya to Open in the Village

New, 7 comments

LA's popular ramen shop Ramen Jinya is coming to New York. The mini-chain?which started as Robata Jinya in Tokyo and has a small handful of locations around LA?announced on Facebook today that a New York location is "coming soon," which Eater LA hears means sometime later this year.

The chain's garnered a following on the West Coast for its tonkatsu tonkotsu ramen and other solid offerings. (Jonathan Gold, for one, is a fan.) The New York location will be at 24 Greenwich Ave, the former location of another Japanese restaurant, Funayama. And with the mega-hyped Ivan Ramen coming to the LES this spring, this is shaping up to be a really good year for downtown ramen lovers.
