Here's a look around the newest branch of Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow's wildly popular cheap eats restaurant, The Meatball Shop. The Chelsea location opened yesterday, with the same menu that's served at the other restaurants. Unlike the Lower East Side and West Village outposts, the Chelsea restaurant has a full liquor license. The space has a ground-floor dining room, as well as a downstairs room with tables and a 20-seat bar for dining or drinking. This bar, dubbed "Underballs," will be seated like the rest of the dining room, but it can also be reserved for private parties. The restaurant sits in the Ninth Avenue space that formerly housed Klee Brasserie.
