The Financial District location of Luke's Lobster?the excellent lobster roll destination whose East Village location is a great spot for a first date or a marriage proposal?had been open for less than a year-and-a-half when Hurricane Sandy forced it to close. Its South William Street location was in the worst-hit part of the FiDi, with the storm completely knocking it out of commission. Good news, though: almost four months later, the location is finally reopening.
DNAinfo reports that owners Ben Conniff and Luke Holden are celebrating the opening with a little shindig starting at 5 p.m. next Thursday, featuring $3 beers. (The opening doubles as a kickoff to their Beer Week festivities.) Additionally, DNAinfo notes that the Luke's Lobster truck will of course return to the streets this Spring.
