The Water Table set sail for its first dinner service on Friday, nearly a year after Rye and Dumont alum Kelli Farwell first launched her floating restaurant project. For December and January, the former WWII minesweeper departs from India Street Pier for a dinner cruise every Friday and Saturday, serving a $75, three-course meal. This month that menu includes dishes like corn chowder with applewood smoked ham, mussel salad with roasted fennel, and a vegetable and goat cheese pie. The full menu, plus the list of cocktails, is below.
Eventually Farwell and her partner Sue Walsh hope to add more nights of cruising and more than one dinner per night. For now, despite the fact that winter is not exactly the height of sailing season, the meals are booking up quickly (the dining room is well-heated). The Water Table is also currently taking reservations for New Year's Eve, when there will be a special dinner cruise from 7:30 to 10 p.m. and a midnight cruise with cocktails and a couple snacks from 10:45 to 1 a.m. All reservations can be made online.
