Amali's Dickens Dinners, Cookie Takedown, and More

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:

When: Starts Today
Where: Amali
What: From now through the end of the month, Amali is serving a special Charles Dickens-themed holiday menu. The five-course meal will feature dishes inspired by moments from the story, like raw oysters, potato gnocchi, seared foie gras, and an apple crostata. Check out the full menu here. The dinner is $85 per adult and $40 for kids under 12. To make a reservation, call the restaurant at 212-339-8363.

When: Today & Tomorrow, 2 to 4 p.m.
Where: The Bell House
What: The king of the takedowns, Matt Timms, is hosting another event, and this time it's all about cookies. At the Brooklyn Cookie Takedown, guests will get to taste over fifty cookie creations from local amateur bakers and vote for their favorite. There will be bourbon and unlimited eggnog for drinking as well. Tickets to both days are still available online for $15 here and here.

When: Starts Sunday
Where: Grace
What: Beginning tomorrow evening, Grace, a new pub in Kips Bay, will roll out a special Sunday roast menu. The weekly offering will cost $29 per person and feature things like prime rib, Yorkshire pudding, and roasted potatoes.

When: Today, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: The Brooklyn Kitchen
What: Roberta's pizzaioli Peter Litschi and Anthony Falco will be teaching a class on making high quality pizzas at home later today. Each student will make a personal pizza from scratch while learning all about the Roberta's secrets to saucing and topping. Beer will be provided by the Brooklyn Brewery. The class costs $85 per person.

When: Sunday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Dassara Ramen
What: Tomorrow afternoon, the Danish pop-up restaurant Revolving Dansk is hosting a Christmas-themed Danish feast made by chef Pablo Ventura, formerly of Fatty Crab. There will be Danish-style crispy pork, Danish red hot dogs, and glögg, a warm spiced red wine.
