Daniel and Derek Koch, who at one time were the kings of the brunch party scene, have been rather adrift as of late. First their partnership with the mysterious Ginza Group at MPD led to its shuttering and a flurry of lawsuits. Then their run at the shitshow that was Toy ended with them claiming that the concept had outgrown the space. They were recently thrown out of their own company, the Dual Group, by their partner and financial backer Michael Wainstein for unknown reasons (although their inability to make a project last longer than 12 months may have been the reason). But despite all of these setbacks, the Koch brothers can never really be counted down for the count.
This week, the duo announced a new restaurant called Tender that will open in the Sanctuary Hotel during Fashion Week in February, promising something that is American with a European twist. Hot!
