Michael Psilakis's popular Upper West Side restaurant, Kefi finally reopened this week ten months after a water main break put it out of commission. Psilakis and his partner Donatella Arpaia have not only repaired the damage done to the flooded dining room, but have also given the place a thorough renovation. As Gothamist reports, the bar has been expanded and the lounge is now set aside exclusively for walk-ins. There are brand new light blue leather banquettes, and Greek columns and mosaic tiles lining the walls. And, until the new chairs on order clear customs, a dining room furnished with rented wedding chairs.
The menu is mostly the same old favorites, with just a few new additions. The restaurant is open now for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, and there's a happy hour with specials on drinks and meze from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
