GQ's Alan Richman gives two stars to the Brooklyn location of Mile End, and one star to the Manhattan spinoff. On the latter: "The Romanian (skirt) steak could use a more elegant presentation that doesn't pile ingredients on top of one another, but the meat was thick, juicy, and cooked rare; the sweet-potato puree was so profound it was practically biblical; and the lamb bacon was so succulent it was hard to complain that it didn't belong."
